For National day this year we needed a project to get us in the Singapore spirit of red & white! We created a homemade Watermelon Kueh… made healthier using brown rice!
It’s Chinese New Year again and 2014 is the Year of the Horse!
There are many festive treats available in Singapore at this time of year – cookie stalls are popping up everywhere. Some cookie fairs even have fancy set-ups that bake on site, so you can purchase them fresh from the oven!
This year, to try and escape the cane sugar and white flour overdose, we decided to make our own!
Everyone loves eating during the holiday season! There is so much festive food… but it’s often unhealthy. However, we love baking cookies… so we transformed the standard with some fantastic substitutes and created these amazingly healthy (and cute) Coconut Sugar Cookie Cutouts!

Why is everything red and white? The 9th August is Singapore’s National Day!
One of the things we love about living in another country is discovering the different holiday traditions. We always really enjoy Singapore’s National Day Holiday – and this year we created some extra special recipes to celebrate!
Have you celebrated Chinese New Year? This has become one of our favourite times of the year here in Singapore. It is the perfect opportunity to take some days off, spend time with family, and wish each other luck and success. It is also a time to spring clean, pay off debts, express gratitude, and celebrate.
